$200 Million Business Stimulus Package

The Victorian Government has announced a $200 million stimulus package to help businesses and entice Victorians to return to their favourite food and hospitality experiences throughout the state. The package will be available beginning in March 2022.

The programs and voucher schemes are:

Melbourne Dining Vouchers – ‘Melbourne Money’

The popular ‘Melbourne Money’ programme has been refunded with an additional $10 million.

These vouchers can be used to get a 25% discount on meals from Monday to Thursday within the Melbourne municipality when you spend between $40 and $500.

Melbourne Money encourages Victorians to seek out our city’s world-class restaurants and food and beverage establishments.

The Melbourne City Revitalisation Fund is used to deliver Melbourne Money in collaboration with the City of Melbourne.

This programme is now active and will continue until funds are depleted.

Statewide Dining Vouchers

A new $30 million Statewide Dining Vouchers programme will be launched to cover the entire state of Victoria.

From Monday to Thursday, it will reimburse 25% of dining costs for meals in regional Victoria and metropolitan Local Government Areas outside of the Melbourne CBD when spending between $40 and $500.

This programme is scheduled to begin on March 29, 2022.

Entertainment Voucher Scheme

A new $30 million Entertainment Voucher Scheme will reimburse some of the costs of eligible entertainment.

Discounts will be for tickets to:

  • the cinema
  • theatrical productions
  • live music
  • exhibitions

  • other events.

This program is expected to open on 29 March 2022.

Victorian and Seniors Travel Voucher Scheme

When you spend at least $400 on eligible tourism and travel-related services, you will receive a $200 voucher.

$30 million has been set aside to expand the successful Regional and Metropolitan Travel Voucher Scheme, which will encourage more Victorians to spend their money at tourism, attractions, and events businesses.

The Victorian Travel Voucher Scheme will open at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 23, 2022, for travel between April 8 and May 27, 2022.

An additional 10,000 vouchers will be set aside for Victorian Seniors and distributed through a ballot process.

Ventilation Voucher Program

$500 vouchers to assist businesses in purchasing COVIDSafe air purifiers, ventilators, and other COVIDSafe maintenance, providing them with confidence that their business is COVIDSafe.

A total of $60 million will be invested to provide up to $5,000 in matched grants to eligible small businesses in order to improve ventilation and help reduce the spread of COVID-19.

This could include investing in:

  • equipment
  • building works

The $500 vouchers program and the $5,000 matched grants will open late March 2022.
